Exploring global change impacts on river and terrestrial ecosystems
I am a Ramón y Cajal researcher working in the Global Change Research Institute (IICG-URJC) & Area of Biodiversity and Conservation at Rey Juan Carlos University (Spain),
I study why biodiversity is changing and what this means for ecosystems, biogeochemistry and society. My work examines how multiple stressors effects combine to impact stream organisms and ecosystem multifunctionality, with the goal of informing better policies for biodiversity conservation under global change. See my research lines and publications for more details. I am the founder and coordinator of the Iberian River Observatory (IberRios), a collaborative project to explore global change impacts on Iberian river biodiversity and ecosystem functions. I also co-founded the EcoMandanga platform to communicate ecological science to general audiences. |
